Step 4- Grant Funding Research

Grant Funding Research Information

During the research phase, the research staff will match your organization with grant-makers on three levels of compatibility: subject of interest, geographic region, and types of support given. While some grant-makers offer international or nationwide financial support, others only give to regional or local grant-seekers. Some grant-makers are more lenient with their guidelines, but others will not even consider requests that fall outside of their specified area of focus. After your grant writing company has narrowed down your geographic focus, they will usually choose the grant-makers whose missions and goals best align with your own. Though your organization’s overall purpose or field of interest might match a grant-maker, they might still not fund someone based on what they are asking support for. Many grant-makers only provide funding for specific types of support. Types of giving are broken down into areas such as general operating support, expansion, building expenses, career and vocational training, or continued employee education. This is why it is important to have experienced grant research staff behind your efforts. An experience grant writing company should have the knowledge and experience necessary to go after grant funding opportunities that best fit your overall goals.
