Writing Your Press Release

You must understand the importance of executing a proper press release. Utilizing the press for getting the word out about your project can really help boost your viral marketing, which is an integral marketing strategy that has worked well for many foundations. The best part about viral marketing is that it’s free. Your press release will probably take a chunk out of your budget, however the effects (if done properly) will be lasting and productive. When doing your press release it is imperative that you include as many of the founding partners as possible (if not all of them). Allow each one ample time/space to share what each and everyone intends on doing to make the goals come to fruition. You must have your story ready for the media. This is key.

Do your research on the internet and you may be able to find videos and articles for press releases of previously funded projects. Analyze them and see how you can mold your press release to be just as affective.

REMEMBER to include the following when putting together your Press Release:

The title and goal of your grant project.
Who, and how many people will benefit.
How will people benefit from this project?
Who will be a contributing factor to your project and what will they be contributing to achieve your projects goals?
What are the strategies and actions that you are going to use to inform and involve others regarding this project?
What is the vast impact (nationally / globally) of the results of your project?
